Maurício Mallet

Ensaio para quatro tempos #28

Oil in paper.

Born and based in São Paulo, Mauricio Mallet has a Bachelor in Visual Arts and Master in Visual Arts. Working in drawing and painting, Mallet deals with the concepts of memory and reminiscence (combination of past and present) to speak of the tensions between figuration and abstraction, between color and its absence. His subjects are usually found in quotidian domestic spaces, but also in the blurry memories these same spaces evoke. Mallet has participated in a number of exhibits, such as at the Instituto Tomie Ohtake, São Paulo and Fondazione Giorgio Cini (Imago Mundi Art - Venice, Italy 2015). Among the awards he received are the 31st Chelsea International Fine Art Competition (2016) and Salao de Artes Plasticas de Mococa (1st place, 2015).
